Can credit card companies sue for unpaid balances?
I have received letters from lawyers telling me that a lawsuit has been filed against me, and I need to contact them for advice and to be represented in court. I have a job but wages have been cut and I cannot afford to make payments or pay a lawyer, what will happen to me in court, if I have to go.

What credit card companies are best for little to no credit?
I& 039 ve had a credit card and I& 039 m trying to see which companies are more flexable with first time userswho have little to no credit. Capitol One declined me. Any others?

Can credit card companies hound my family after my grandmothers death?
So my grandma has a credit card with 8,000$ of debt on it, and my sister keeps saying that if she doesnt pay it off, it falls on us, is that true? btw we live in california if that has any effect

Why do credit card companies rather a customer go into collections than lower their rate?
My interest rate is 18.99%. One card has a balance of $31,000. I called asking for a lower rate I have never been late in the 14 years I" ve had the card. I was told that& 039 s the lowest I qualify for. I said based on that rate I will no longer be able to make payments, so now I am 4 months not paying on the card. They& 039 d rather keep it at a high rate than lower it so I can afford the payments. Now they lose 31,000 plus monthly payments from me.I have another card with $9,000 at a rate of 15.99%. Again, I have never been late with payments in the 10 plus years I& 039 ve had it. I called 5 minutes ago to ask to have it lowered. The guy said he& 039 d have to pull my credit report. I said my credit is crp because I haven& 039 t been making payments on my other card, which is why I& 039 m asking he lower my rate so I don& 039 t stop making payments on this card too. He said he can& 039 t if my credit is bad my credit was 100% excellent on the 31K scenario and they still said no . So I told him after this month I will no longer be able to make payments and the account will go into collections and they will lose any more money from me. I have no assets and little income so good luck collecting anything. Is it more profitable for them to keep the rate high to the point the payment is not payable and they lose the entire account? Do they have that much money to burn and don& 039 t care? I don& 039 t get it When I got the card my income was more, I had it at a low balance or paid it off but as my income dropped they increased both my credit limit and my interest rate. I just don& 039 t have the money to pay the monthly payments any more and if it goes to collections I still won& 039 t have money to pay it unless I win the Lotto but I don& 039 t buy lotto tickets so I don& 039 t see how they made a good decision not to lower my payments, I just asked they lower it for 6 months until I found a 2nd job and they said no the 3 times I called and now it& 039 s ruined my credit. They are all fraud CEOs running this scheme And as of yesterday they have no limit on how much interest they can charge thanks to Obama.

Where can I file a complaint against a credit card company?
I did an on line balance transfer from one credit card to another credit card because one card had a lower interest rate . I checked everything before doing this transfer and did not see anything that said there would be a balance transfer fee.I checked my acount this morning and there was a 3% fee The credit company said this fee is there when I did the transfer. I did a " mock" transfer and did not see this written anywhere. An employee at the credit card company went through this with me and she didn& 039 t see one either. Now they have transferred me to a " manager" and she said she would look into this for me and possibly waive the charge however the manager did not seem to care very much about this. I never would have done this balance transfer if I knew of this 3% fee. Does anyone know if there is a government agency I could file a complaint with?

If someone owes 3 g to the credit card company is that considered being in debt?
If a person owes exactly 3,000 to a credit card company is that considered being in debt or would it be considered more minor debt? I got carried away i owe 3,000 on a credit card buying dumb things like a computer and gold chain.

Getting screwed by the credit card company... what can I do?
I had a credit card with a bank for a $5000 limit. I basically was keeping it steady at around $3500 borrowed against it and had been steadily paying it down it got driven up when I was unemployed , and went to use it last week at the gas station, where it came back declined. Concerned, I called the number on the back of the card, and was told they& 039 d lowered my limit to $3000 and I was now over borrowed, which usually comes with a fee and negative hits on your credit score. My issue is that they never notified me, whatsoever, and when I sent them an email asking them if this is how they treat their customers, I got a generic response which explained, vaguely, why the limit was lowered, and in no way addressed the point of my email which was that I find this entire experience to be horrible customer service, and I& 039 m fairly sure it& 039 s a violation of the terms of agreement. What can I do about this? I don& 039 t want to have to pay late fees, and I don& 039 t want to have to get negative pings on my credit score because Citizen& 039 s can& 039 t send out a letter correctly.

Will having a credit card company lower my interest rate and set a payoff plan hurt my credit score.?
The credit card company wants to help me by lowering my rate and setting me up to pay the card off in five years. The card will also be canceled. I am worried because i am planning on buying a vehicle in the next five years. I have a very good credit score and I am afraid if I agree to this payoff plan with the credit company it will hurt my credit. I just want to know if it will hurt my credit score to do this. Thank you.

I am currently having my paychecks garnished by my former credit card company?
It sucks quite a bit However I am about to send the credit card company the total balance of what I owe them about $3000 . When they receive it will the immediately stop garnishing my wages? Also what will that do for my credit score? Will it affect it at all or does that take time?

Credit card company taking payments after closure of account? can they do this?
I had a credit card with sainsburys bank, i disputed an amount which was taken in december when in new york, as i had already prepaid the hotel, i noticed the hotel had taken payment again, i disputed this amount and they confirmed on 11 2 that this was solved and sent me a refund, i confirmed with the customer service advisor there was no pending transactions and no balance, she confirmed my account was 0 and closed my account, however yesterday i received a letter saying they were putting a 600 charge on my account as there had been a charge from the merchants....surely this is illegal? Please help
