What are the pros and cons of rewards credit cards vs. cash back credit cards?
I am interesed in switching to one of these card types but really am not sure which is best for me. I do moderate spending with my card mostly large sums gifts, bills etc. and pay it off completely every month.

Recently, supposedly because I have an excellent credit rating, my credit card company issued me a Platinum Mastercard at 7.75% interest that gives back 1% of all purchases annually. Of course, it also has no annual fee.How do they make money doing that? I had my standard credit card with the same company for the last 15 years, and recent history indicates that I always pay off my entire balance. Given that, it& 039 s as though they are paying me for the privilege of me using their card.I& 039 m not complaining I just want to know if anyone can tell me the credit card company& 039 s financial rationale for paying me to use their card.

What is a good cash back credit card that has no annual fee?
A percentage for gas won& 039 t mean anything to me for the next 3 or 4 years, since I& 039 m living in Japan I wont have a car. My credit report lists two scores as good and one as excellent. I don& 039 t want a discover card since I haven& 039 t seen any place that accepts that over here but maybe I& 039 m just not noticing it I refuse to pay an annual fee and the APR is only a minor concern since I haven& 039 t carried a balance in a few years and when I do it& 039 s only for a couple of months. I currently have a Chase credit card with travel benefits that seem to really suck and an American Express with points that really suck. But I have low APR& 039 s on both of those around 8% and great transfer rates so if need be I can always transfer to those cards. I only want to get one more card, the only reason I wouldn& 039 t close one of the other two is because I don& 039 t want my history to shorten.

I& 039 m considering getting a cash back credit card. Which UK banks have the best offers rates?A cah back credit card means that the bank gives you a return on spending money using the credit card. You treat it the same as a debit card but pay of the balance in full each month and the bank gives you cash back. So as a really rough example if you spend 300 on it a month you might get 8 back. Better than nothing.

I& 039 d like to get a cash back credit card and am having trouble deciding which card to get. I& 039 d prefer a Visa or Mastercard and have excellent credit. I& 039 m considering the Citi CashReturns card or the Capital One No Hassle Cash Rewards card. The Capital One card seems to have better higher % benefits, but I& 039 ve read reviews indicating their customer service is lacking. Customer service is nearly as important to me as the rewards. Also, I will be traveling abroad and need a card company with a higher limit that won& 039 t charge excessive fees or deactivate the card when used abroad. Anyone have any experience with either of these cards or companies? Any recommendations?
